Native Antigen Customization
BBI can support a range of different customization options to support your requirements. As a primary manufacturer we can support requests to adapt current products to meet your specific requirements, ranging from dispensation volumes, concentrations, and alternative formulations or analytical testing methodologies. Native products are sourced from ethical, stable raw material suppliers.
As a UK government human tissue authority licenced site, BBI can, with sufficient notice, supply material from a broad range of human tissues and fluids from its extensive worldwide supply chain. Where we don’t have a current, qualified off-the shelf biomarker to meet a specific need, we can source and purify the product to a bespoke specification. This process involves an in-depth discussion with our technical teams, followed by the generation of a custom proposal which defines the project including timelines and costs. Recombinant Antigen Customization
We offer multiple routes for recombinant-antigen expression and scale-up. At our UK site we routinely develop E. coli and Pichia products, while our Freiburg team adds the Baculovirus Sf9 insect-cell platform to the toolkit.
To select the best system for your new biomarker, our scientists analyze both its sequence and 3-D structure, then provide a custom proposal detailing the expression trials and purification steps required. Downstream, we can run a full characterization package – including tests with patient samples to confirm commutability.
For serological targets we support line assays, ELISA, and other formats. And if you need one of our antigens in a customized buffer or with an added label – Streptavidin, for example – we can adapt any product in our catalogue to your specification.
