HOW IT WORKS

A new standard for lateral flow sensitivity

Polystreptavidin R takes the well established standards of traditional Streptavidin based assay sensitivity, and amplifies it thanks to the increased number of biotin binding sites.

Customer testing has shown consistently superior sensitivity in lateral flow assays with better results even at lower sample concentrations.

Immunodiagnostic assays are constantly evolving thanks to new technological developments.

From the Biotin-Avidin-Systems of the late 1970s, to the commonly used Streptavidivin used today, now BBI is proud to exclusively offer you the next evolution in biotin-based assay development, Polystreptavidin R.

A recombinant, polymerised version of the industry standard Streptavidin that can offer an increased number of biotin binding sites, chemo/thermal stability, signal strength and assay sensitivity.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the advantage of using Polystreptavidin R over traditional streptavidin?

Polystreptavidin R offers several advantages over traditional Streptavidin, including higher binding capability due to multiple Streptavidin molecules per polymer unit, reduced background binding due to minimized nonspecific interactions, and enhanced stability in various biological and chemical conditions.

What is the activity of Polystreptavidin R?

Activity is measured by biotin binding capacity. The biotin binding capacity is > 11.0 U/mg, as measured by a HABA assay. Capacity is given as U/mg, defined as 1U = binds 1ug Biotin at pH7.

What is the size of Polystreptavidin R?

The size is between 2,000 and 20,000 kDa, as the polymerised product final purification step is field-flow-fractionation.

Can the large size of Polystreptavadin R be a drawback?

The size of Polystreptavidin R is typically an asset.

The larger three dimensional size increases the amount of biotin that can be bound per assay and has the potential to reduce antibody requirements.

Can Polystreptavidin R be used for applications beyond Lateral Flow?

Yes. Polystreptavidin can be used in a wide variety of applications including ELISA and CLIA methods.

How can Polystreptavidin R be diluted?

Polystreptavidin R is dilutable with Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS). No specific pH is recommended, however, solutions above pH 8 should be avoided.

What is the shelf life and how should I store it?

The use-by date of Polystreptavadin R is 24 months from the date of manufacture when stored at the appropriate temperature of 2-8°C. Do not freeze.

Can I order in bulk amounts?

Yes. We are happy to supply bulk amounts of our Polystreptavidin R. For larger orders please email our sales team who will be happy to help you take the next steps: info@bbisolutions.com

I achieved great results with my sample, where can I send future orders?
