Cholesterol Oxidase Technical Data
The enzyme mix was dried on the surface of a screen-printed carbon electrode and then followed with the addition of hydroquinone, HRP and cholesterol sample followed by an incubation, measurement (chronoamperometry) and analysis.

In enzymatic chemistry tests, cholesterol Oxidase is typically used in conjunction with cholesterol esterase and peroxidase:
Initially, cholesterol esterase cleaves cholesterol esters into free cholesterol and fatty acids.
Cholesterol oxidase then oxidises the free cholesterol into Cholest-4-en-3-one and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).
Hydrogen peroxide reacts with peroxidase and a fluorescent dye to produce a measurable signal.
